Loombands removed from shelves due to harmful chemicals

Considering how big the craze from loom bands had gotten recently, this must be a massive blow to the company. The Entertainer has removed all loom bands from their shelves after one charm tested by the BBC contained 40% phthalates, while under EU law the maximum allowed is 0.1%. Phthalates are used to elasticise plastics but are also a carcinogen, leading to them being withdrawn temporarily by Britain's largest independent toy retailer.
