SKU PT1073
  • Eight previously unknown and unpublished photographs of the Rolling Stones, from 1964.

The Rolling Stones are the world’s biggest band and have defined the image of the “rock star”. They have enjoyed eight UK #1s and continue to sell out tours around the world.

Seven of the 4.8 x 3.5 inch photos were taken backstage at the Brighton Hippodrome on Sunday July 19, 1964 – just seven days after the Stones had their first #1 single with It’s All Over Now.

The Stones were there to headline a bill that included Kenny Lynch and Marty Wilde. Lynch appears in one of the photographs.

The solo photo of Mick Jagger was taken at the Stones' concert at the Brighton Hippodrome on Sunday 11 October, 1964.

The photographer of the eight shots was a teenage journalist for amateur magazine Teen Topics. The collection comes directly from her. She has also supplied a detailed letter of authenticity.

Unpublished photos of the Stones from their early years are rare. These photos capture the energy, excitement and danger of the Stones in 1964. History in action. Good condition.
