Queen, formed in London in 1970, are one of the most unique acts in rock history, with approximately 300 million records sold worldwide.
Led by flamboyant singer Freddie Mercury, one of the era’s most charismatic front men, their brand of bombastic, operatic rock proved hugely successful.
Their career was cut short by Mercury’s death from complications caused by AIDS in 1991.
