Prince Edward Island 1862-69 2d rose plate proof, imperforate block of 30 (5x6) on white wove, being the left half of a sheet (R1-6/1-5) with 'DIE II' at R2/5, SG12c.
A fine quality mint sheet which has been professionally mounted on an exhibition page. There are a couple of insignificant blemishes but, overall, a very attractive and very rare item.
Contemporary with the period of issue, and believed to have been found in Whiting's stock at the time of liquidation in 1893.
The catalogue value of the issued stamps is £3,300+.
Prince Edward Island was previously administered as part of Novia Scotia until it became a separate colony in 1769.
