New Zealand 1935-36 3s chocolate and yellow-brown, watermark 43, Perforations 13½ x14, variety watermark inverted and reversed from the experimental 'wet' printing, SG569ay.
A very fine left marginal unmounted mint example with full original gum. Trivial gum wrinkles as often seen mentioned for accuracy only as this printing variety is extremely scarce in such fine unmounted mint condition.
Only 3,000 printed with this variety. The survival rate is considered to be a fraction of this number.
A beautiful pictorial stamp featuring Mount Egmont, a dormant stratovolcano in the Taranaki region on the West coast of New Zealand's North Island. Mount Egmont is now called Mount Taranaki after polite requests from the local Māori.
