MALAYA JAPANESE OCCUPATION 1942 Trengganu 3c chestnut, SGJ100
Malaya Japanese Occupation 1942 (Sept) Trengganu 3c chestnut (ordinary paper), SGJ100.
A fine quality lightly used example with part circular date stamp. Faint bend and natural perforation irregularities do not detract from overall fine condition.
Malaya was gradually occupied by the Japanese between 8 December 1941 and the Allied surrender at Singapore on 16 February 1942. The Japanese remained in occupation until their surrender to the Allies in 1945. During the occupation postal services resumed in Trengganu on 5 March 1942 and these postage stamps issued remained in use until September 1942.
The Stanley Gibbons catalogue value is £90.
