Great Britain George II Silver Crown Silver from the West and Wales 1716.

Mint Mark: 1716 SECVNDO

Ref: S 3639

39.0 mm 30.2 gm

Obverse: Laureate, draped bust right.

Reverse: Crowned cruciform shields of England and Scotland, France, Ireland and Hanover, roses and plumes in angles.

Only the slightest cabinet friction on raised surfaces, underlying mint lustre below light toning. Very attractive coin — first Hanoverian crown. The roses and plumes on the reverse signify that the metal of which these coins were made came from the silver mines in the West of England (rose) and the those in Wales (plumes).

Good Extremely Fine, attractive even light toning.
