Great Britain 1941-42 1d-2½d (pale colours, watermark sideways) imprimaturs, SG486/9a var
Great Britain 1941-42 1d-2½d (pale colours, watermark sideways) imprimaturs, SG486/9a var.
Superb unmounted mint, with full original gum, imperforate set of three marginal imprimaturs with "BPMA" handstamps on reverse.
A very scarce philatelic assembly of the first approved printing sheet from this watermark variety in the stamp issue from the reign of King George VI.
Exceptional provenance as they were released from the British Postal Museum Archives in 2014. Prior to this they were stored in the museum archives in climate controlled vaults since being printed and are therefore in uncirculated mint condition.
Previously sold by Stanley Gibbons for £7,500.
