A very fine printer's die proof with value, inscription tablets and surround uncleared.
The piece shows part of an additional inverted head which has been defaced at left and "4SA" reversed at top. Printed in scarlet on white glazed proof paper (72x86mm).
A scarce King George V printing die proof of the Downey Head issue.
