A superb unused example, with original gum, of this rare stamp that was prepared for use but not issued lettered 'ND'.
Lovely vibrant colour and gum.
A scarce stamp in such fine quality.
Owing to a proposed change in postal rate, 1½d stamps were first printed in 1860 in rosy mauve, but the change was not approved and the greater part of the stock was destroyed. Despite this, there are three or four postally used examples which have been recorded.
