Batum British Occupation 1920 (19 June) new colours set of 9 to 50r deep blue in horizontal pairs, SG45a/53a.
Each pair is showing the error 'BPITISH' se-tenant with the normal stamp.The error occurs at R1/19 on sheet of 308 (22x14).
Mint set with large part original gum (except the 2r with little gum). Odd trivial blemishes, but still an attractive and very scarce set.
The top value is very scarce with only 175 possible.,
Provenance: each signed Mikulski on reverse, refers to Władysław Mikulski, a well-known mid-20th century philatelic expert and dealer.
