Australia New South Wales 1890 2½d group of four imperforate colour trials, comprising black/rose (very fine), slate, vermilion and sepia. The last three with slight toning, but large right marginal examples (sepia from lower right corner), SG265.
A fine and rare group, with the slate and vermilion not present in the Royal Philatelic Collection and particularly appealing.
A quintessential stamp issue depicting an allegorical figure of Australia. The stamp was ultimately issued in ultramarine.
