Sleepless in Seattle still tourist hit 25 years on
The Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan romantic comedy classic 'Sleepless in Seattle' is still generating tourist money for the Emerald City-22 years after it was originally released.
The film generated more than $100 Million when it was first released back in 1993 and still contributes a great amount to the $5 Billion the city generates in travel spending annually.
The city runs the 'Show Me Seattle' tour which includes a trip to the floating home owned by Tom Hanks character and other down town destinations used in the movie. There are also plenty of 'Sleepless in Seattle' collectibles available including nightshirts, shot glasses and keychains which shop owners say are still selling well.
