Julie Andrews' Sound of Music guitar
Julie Andrews’ Sound of Music guitar is an iconic prop used by the actress in her famous role as Maria in the 1965 film ‘The Sound of Music’.
The guitar is a Goya acoustic model with the serial number 1 70025. It was used extensively by Andrews during the filming of The Sound of Music, and is an integral part of her character.
The guitar is complete with its original case, and is signed by Julie Andrews.
In June 2011 the guitar was placed up for sale as part of the Debbie Reynolds Collection of Hollywood costumes and props at Profiles in History in Beverly Hills with an estimated price of $20,000 - $30,000. It eventually sold for a price of $172,200 (including buyers premium).
