Brief history

The Pirates of the Caribbean film series is a collection of four fantasy-adventure films which were based on the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park ride in Disneyland.

The first film in the series (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) was released in 2003, followed by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest in 2006, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End in 2007 and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in 2011.

Some of the many stars in the film include Johnny Depp, Kiera Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush and Penelope Cruz.
