Orlando Bloom’s watch collection
Actor Orlando Bloom's watch collection contains a large selection of rare timepieces. The collection is particularly noteworthy for a number of Rolex models.
Bloom’s collection of 40 watches includes eight items that are more than 40 years old and six Rolex pieces.
Most notable among the collection is a 1950s anti-magnetic Rolex Milgauss worth in the region of £150,000. Bloom also owns a Rolex Submariner.
Bloom sold a 1973 Explorer II Steve McQueen piece at an Antiquorum auction in 2009.
Eight watches and jewellery worth between £300,000-400,000 were stolen from Bloom’s home in Los Angeles in 2009. The perpetrators, known as the Bling Ring gang, targeted a number of celebrities’ homes including Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.
A member of the gang, reality television star Alexis Neiers, was sentenced to six months in jail after pleading no contest to a charge of breaking into Bloom’s house.
Much of the haul was returned and the Rolex watches have been recovered.
