Frank M Whiting & Company was an American silverware manufacturer.
Brief history and description
The Frank M. Whiting Company was founded in 1878 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts by the son of William Whiting, (the founder of the Whiting Manufacturing Co), and became well known for manufacturing a variety of different sterling silver items such as silverware, pitchers, bowls, tea sets, candlesticks and much more.
The company has had numerous name changes throughout its history, such as the F.M. Whiting & Co. in 1878, F.M. Whiting in 1891, and the F.M. Whiting Co. in 1895.

Frank M. Whiting Company items that are sold as a complete, matching set are considered to be the most rare and valuable.
Restoration of a Frank M. Whiting Company item is recommended, but only if there is noticeable damage. However, restoring the item may decrease its value.

Cowan's Auctions in Cincinnati, Ohio sold an F.M. Whiting Company sterling silver punch bowl (which was presented to George "Boss" Cox) featuring a grapevine decoration for $9,000 in June of 2006.
Susanin's Auctions in Chicago, Illinois sold a complete Frank M. Whiting silverware set for $2,400 in May of 2004.
Austin Auction Gallery in Austin, Texas sold a Frank M. Whiting sterling silver water pitcher (9.5" in height) for $650 in February of 2011, and Lewis & Maese Antiques in Houston, Texas sold another Frank M. Whiting sterling silver water pitcher (10" in height) for $310 in October of 2008.
