Elizabeth Taylor Burton letter The lot is the first known Taylor-Burton love letter to come to auction

Taylorwrote the letteron March 15, 1974, their 10th wedding anniversary, while Burton was on the set of The Klansman. It reads in full: "My darling (my still) My husband. I wish I could tell you of my love for you, of my fear, my delight, my pure animal pleasure of you - (with you) - my jealousy, my pride, my anger at you, at times.

"Most of all my love for you, and whatever love you can dole out to me - I wish I could write about it but I can't. I can only 'boil and bubble' inside and hope you understand how I really feel.

"Anyway I lust thee, Your (still) Wife. P.S. O'Love, let us never take eachother for granted again! P.P.S. How about that - 10 years!!"

To date this is the only known Taylor-Burton love letter to come to auction, making it extremely rare.

It was discovered hidden in a book in the master bedroom of the house the couple were renting in Oroville, California.

"This letter is a remarkable discovery," commented Adrian Roose, director of PFC Auctions.

"Taylor and Burton were one of the most famous couples of the 20thcentury, and the tempestuous nature of their marriage was legendary. This letter is, to our knowledge, the first of its kind to appear for auction.

"It gives an amazing personal insight into their marriage, and captures the passion between them better than any biography or documentary ever could."

The auction also includes a letter written by Taylor to her cat- the feline had recently gone missing.
