Antique and vintage pearl choker necklaces
Antique and vintage pearl choker necklaces are collectible items of jewellery. Choker necklaces are designed to fit tightly around the neck. They are often highly decorative in nature, and those featuring pearls are particularly sought after.
Antique or vintage?
According to the 1930 Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act’s definition of “antique”, antique pearl choker necklaces were produced more than 100 years ago. Vintage pieces were made within the last 100 years and can include items produced as recently as the 1980s.
Value and notable sales of pearl choker necklaces
The value of pearl choker necklaces can vary significantly according to the number of pearls and other items of worth are featured on the necklace. Pieces made by famous names will also boost the price significantly.
