Superb used example uprated to the 2d per 1 ounce rate with an additional four margin 1d black Plate 2, both beautifully cancelled by crisp red Maltese Crosses. Sent from Stourbridge to St. Helier, Jersey back stamped with Stourbridge and London circular date stamps on reverse for JU.14 & 15.1840.
Wonderful usage to the Channel Islands, very rare especially in such magnificent quality.
Provenance: Ex. Grand Prix Gold Medal Winning Collection "Mayflower".
Accompanied with a 2005 British Philatelic Association Certificate of Authenticity.
