Nevis 1882 1d rose Postal Fiscal, type F1 'Revenue' overprint by Nissen and Parker (originally supplied in March 1879), complete sheet of 12 (3x4) from fresh transfer 'R2', SGF2.
A very fine mint complete sheet with original gum and with lovely colour. All stamps are unmounted mint.
A rare and most attractive item.
A classic Victorian stamp design depicting the seal of the colony and showing women at a medicinal spring. As a volcanic island, Nevis enjoys hot springs at the village of Bath since the 18th century. The stamp shows two women taking advantage of the therapeutic spring water.
