A very fine unused example with original gum of this scarce colour shade, exhibiting a quite outstanding colour.
The "Jubilee" stamp design was the last stamp issue of the reign of Queen Victoria. They were first issued in 1887, during the year of the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria to the throne in 1837. The Jubilee issue holds the important distinction in being the first British stamps to be printed in two colours. Many of the designs proved so popular, they were reused in the stamps of King Edward VII.
