Ceylon 1861-64 1s slate-violet, watermark star, intermediate perforations 14 to 15½, horizontal pair, SG26.
Brilliant mint pair with original gum and exceptional colour for this delicate stamp. Slightly off-centre, which is relatively insignificant for this issue as this example is of much superior quality to almost all other examples in existence.
Scarce as a pair and in such fine condition.
