Ceylon 1857-59 9d purple-brown, imperforate with clear to large margins and lovely colour, tied to folded piece by crisp oval of bars with red "COLOMBO/POST-PAID" despatch circular date stamp of "JAN 7 1860" alongside, SG8.

A most attractive dated example, very scarce in this choice quality.
