A Marc Chagall signed first day cover dated November 9, 1963 and bearing an 85c stamp. Chagall signs in red ink. An attractive piece from the world's most celebrated Jewish artist. Marc Chagall (1887-1985) was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. A contemporary of Picasso and Matisse, his dreamy, sensual work drew inspiration from his childhood growing up in the Jewish shtetl in Vibetsk.
