A Greek transport amphora from the 2nd or 3rd century BC will cross the block at Artemis Gallery in Erie, Colorado on September 24.

It's valued at $7,000-9,000.

The lot is part of the collection of Santa Monica based dealer James Caswell.

The auction house comments: “This sale will be an outstanding buying opportunity for dealers and collectors alike. Rarely do we see material of this caliber ‘priced to sell’…

“There are so many important items in James Caswell’s collection, it’s difficult to choose even a few that merit special mention, but some of his silver is remarkable.”
