Wine buyers in South Africa have had the country's second record breaking auction within two months. This time raising over ZAR8.4m (US$843,000). The price paid per litre at the 29th Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction had a 14.5% increase but was more modest than the 91% increase seen in September. In all, 3,218 cases of wine were sold to a record 163 buyers at an average price of ZAR2, 609 per case, or ZAR435 per bottle.
