Whisky Exchange's Whisky Show – this weekend
The Whisky Exchange's Whisky Show is back again this weekend in London. And I'll be there. In fact, I can't wait.
With 600 whiskies to tempt me from 14 countries, come Sunday evening I'm expecting to be a few hundred pounds lighter and significantly more intoxicated than I am right now (I'm joking somewhat: the show has a long list of rules on imbibing etiquette.)
The 50 tasting stands is where I'll be heading to first, followed by book signings and then probably on to one of the masterclasses from an expert. I'm particularly excited by the talk from Kilchoman's Anthony Wills on how he set up his distillery on the island of Islay. It's been going for 11 years now and is one of my favourites.
A talk on cigar and whisky pairings will also be one close to my heart – although I've cut down on the cigars recently.
But the very best thing of all? Is meeting old friends I've made down the years from my passion for whisky. Some of us only meet once a year (at this event) but we're united by a love of the water of life.
See you there. It's all happening at Old Billingsgate. Here's the link to the website.
