Laphroaig 27 Year Old Oloroso Cask whisky is a collectible type of Scotch whisky, produced by The Laphroaig Distillery in Scotland.

Laphroaig Distillery

The Laphroaig Distillery was established in 1815 by Alex Johnston and Donald Johnston on the Isle of Islay in Scotland. Donald Johnston died in 1847 after falling into a vat of partially-processed whisky.

The distillery’s name means "the beautiful hollow by the broad bay".

The whisky is typically produced using American bourbon casks and water from the Kilbride Dam. It is known for its strong flavour.

Since 1994 Laphroaig has been the only whisky to carry the Royal Warrant of Prince Charles. It is said that Laphroaig's 15-year-old offering is the prince's favourite.

Laphroaig 27 Year Old Oloroso Cask whisky

Laphroaig 27 Year Old Oloroso Cask whisky is a 56.60% single malt, distilled in 1981, aged for 27 years and bottled in 2008.

The whisky was distilled in five casks that had previously contained Oloroso sherry.

756 bottles were produced.
