Laphroaig 15 Year Old whisky is a collectible type of Scotch whisky, produced by The Laphroaig Distillery in Scotland.

Laphroaig Distillery

The Laphroaig Distillery was established in 1815 by Alex Johnston and Donald Johnston on the Isle of Islay in Scotland. Donald Johnston died in 1847 after falling into a vat of partially-processed whisky.

The distillery’s name means "the beautiful hollow by the broad bay".

The whisky is typically produced using American bourbon casks and water from the Kilbride Dam. It is known for its strong flavour.

Since 1994 Laphroaig has been the only whisky to carry the Royal Warrant of Prince Charles.

Laphroaig 15 Year Old whisky is a 43% single malt, aged for 15 years.

Laphroaig has discontinued production of the beverage.

It is said that Laphroaig 15 Year Old is Prince Charles’s favourite whisky.

As production has been discontinued, remaining bottles are rising in price. Bottles can be purchased for between £70 and £100.
