Watch: the first vinyl record played in space
So-they did it! Here's the video of Jack White's Nashville based Third Man Records celebrating their 7th anniversary by playing the first ever vinyl record in space.
The record climbed to an impressive 94, 413 feet (which can be seen at 1.21) after 81 minutes of flight time before the balloon carrying the contraption burst-sending it hurtling back to earth.
Amazingly the record played on repeat throughout its ascent and descent and was even still playing when it was found in a vineyard!
