Rare vinyl Jack White hid in a sofa over 10 years ago found in Detroit
A rare vinyl single by Jack White which he hid inside a sofa over 10 years ago has been discovered in Detroit.
The single is by White's band The Upholsterers which he formed with musician and fellow upholsterer Brian Muldoon during the early days of The White Stripes. The band hid 100 copies of their single 'Your furniture is dead...I was just afraid to tell you' inside reupholstered furniture around Detroit, where they have remained hidden until now.
Two people have now contacted White's record label Third Man Records after finding copies of the single and to celebrate, the company have now revealed the cover art for the vinyl which was done by the Detroit artist Gordon Newton.
