Vintage magazine pages from the Thirties reveal what lingerie advertisements looked like before the age of Victoria's Secret and Agent Provocateur.Drawings of smiling women, all of whom sport short, bobbed hairstyles, adorn the pages wearing sheer pantyhose, silk Glo-Ray 'underthings', rayon bloomers and long underwear. The old-fashioned advertisements, which appeared in the Christmas 1933 issue of Spiegel catalog, appear to be aimed at men, as the main headline reads: 'Women love such gifts'.
