The very first pair of bumster trousers from Alexander McQueen's infamous clothing line have sold for £3,500 at Kerry Taylor Auctions. The low rise 'bumster' trousers first appeared on the catwalk in 1996 and went on to become one of McQueen's signature looks. The pair which sold were made for drag artist Trixie Bellair in 1992 and unlike the other pairs of the famous trousers these were put together on a sewing machine. The designer reportedly borrowed them back from Bellair to copy for the 1996 collection.
