ZX Spectrum Vega resurrected through crowdfunding
UK gaming fans have resurrected the classic 1980s 8-bit computer the ZX Spectrum Vega through a crowdfunding campaign-and its set to be released next week.
The original was first released in 1982 and was one of the first mainstream-audience home computers in the UK.
Now, more than 30 years after the original was released, the ZX Spectrum is back thanks to a crowdfunding campaign started by the company Retro Computors, which was backed by Sir Clive Sinclair himself.
The company hoped to raise around £100,000 within the space of two months-a target which they eventually reached in just 36 hours.
The modern ZX Spectrum has around 1000 games built into its hardware, reuniting gamers with classics such as 'Knight Lore' and 'Back to Skool' as well as forgotten gems such as 'Potty Pigeon', 'Mole on the Dole' and 'A Visit to Trev and Carol's'.
The computer will be available from August 24th at just £99.99.
