Den of Geek revisits the Nintendo Gameboy which 26 years after it was released.

The Gameboy hit Japanese shelves in 1989 and cost a merre $97. It shifted a massive 300,000 units in just two weeks, cementing itself as a gaming must have.

But has the Gameboy stood the test of time where other handheld consoles such as the Sega Gamegear have failed?

I think the only reason its lasted is due to nostalgia. I doubt a child of 2015 would be interested in a Gameboy.

I'd say its held up pretty well, certainly compared to the GameGear.
