Super Mario dungarees get designer revamp for charity
After Super Mario celebrated his 30th birthday at the weekend, Nintendo have decided to give the birthday boy a wardrobe revamp-and have asked 10 big name designers to reinvent Mario's dungarees, all in the name of charity.
Designers including Henry Holland, Zandra Rhodes, Giles Deacon and others have put their own creative spin on the dungarees which are being auctioned via eBay to raise money for the Starlight Children's Foundation.
Holland, a self confessed Mario fan, has based his design around his memories of playing Super Mario as a child by covering his dungarees in 1ups as a reference to his endless quest for mushroom 'lives'.
While Deacon, another Mario fan, paid tribute to his favorite Mario character spiny by emblazoning the character on the front of his dungarees.
They will be up for auction until the 24th of September.
