Rare Sonic the Hedgehog game playable for first time
The ultra rare Sonic the Hedgehog game 'Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car' has been made playable for the first time, reports Kotaku.
The game was only ever released in Japanese arcades in 1991 and since then has never, ever seen the light of day on any console or in any format-that is until a fan imported the original acrade machine from Japan.
Sonic fan 'Will' paid just $350 for the Waku Waku car arcade machine but spent $3000 shipping the machine from Japan to the US and a whopping $2000 in additional costs.
The game is the first Sonic title to include voice acting and features Sonic the Hedgehog as a Japanese police officer who drives a police car around protecting animals from the evil Dr Eggman.
The game is now available to download over at MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator).
