Tomb of Dracula statue
A Tomb of Dracula statue is a limited-edition figurine based on the Marvel comic book ‘The Tomb of Dracula’.
The Tomb of Dracula was a Marvel comic book series which ran from 1972 until 1979, featuring the adventures of a team of vampire hunters fighting against (and occasionally alongside) Dracula.
The comic was first released after the rules regarding horror comics were changed by the Comics Code Authority in 1971, allowing Marvel to publish the title. The character has since appeared in a number of other marvel titles and mini-series, such as X-Men and Blade.
The Marvel Milestones Tomb of Dracula statue
The statue was sculpted by Jean St. Jean, and produced in a limited edition of 1,000 by the company Diamond Select Toys in 2006.
It depicts Dracula in a dramatic pose with his cape swirling around him as a large vampire bat flies past behind him. He stands on a base featuring a series of steps covered in human bones and skulls, with the comic book’s logo emblazoned on the front.
The statues were sold along with a certificate of authenticity, and originally retailed at a price of around $250.
How much is a Tomb of Dracula statue worth?
Due to their limited numbers the statues are now popular with collectors, and have retained their value. On the secondary collector’s market, good condition examples in their original boxes have been known to sell for between $250 and $300 on sites such as eBay.
