Milton Bradley Super Mario Bros board game
The Milton Bradley Super Mario Bros board game is a collectible board game based on the Nintendo video game Super Mario Bros.
The character of Mario first appeared in the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong, and later featured (along with his brother Luigi) in the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros. The characters made their first appearance on home consoles with the 1985 Super Mario Bros for the NES, and by 1988 had appeared in two further best-selling sequels.
The late 1980s saw the characters break through into a number of other areas including a live-action television series in 1989 and a short-lived animated cartoon based on Super Mario Bros 3 in 1990. In addition they featured in a wide range of merchandise, such as the Parker Bros board game released in 1988.

The game is for 2 – 4 players, with the board resembling the two-dimensional platform-based levels in the original NES video game. Players must move through the Mushroom Kingdom, jumping onto platforms, climbing beanstalks and travelling through pipes in a manner similar to the video game. Players can also hit blocks to collect coins and trade them for extra lives.
The aim of the game is to rescue the princess from Bowser’s castle whilst avoiding the evil turtle tribe.
