Disney Haunted Mansion board game
The Disney Haunted Mansion board game is a vintage game based on the haunted mansion attraction at Walt Disney World.
The board game is based on the popular Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland in California. The mansion, which opened in 1969, is an Antebellum-style building in New Orleans Square, which is home to a number of ghosts and spirits created using state-of-the-art special effects.
The mansion has been recreated in different variations at all the Walt Disney theme parks around the world, and is the subject of the 2003 feature film starring Eddie Murphy.
The board game version of the attraction was first released in 1971 by the company Lakeside, and was re-released again in 1975.

The game is for 2 – 4 players, each of whom controls a small plastic ‘Doom Buggy’ (the vehicles used during the real-life attraction). The game has a large cardboard back-drop featuring scenes from the mansion, and includes an entrance and an exit on either side.
The aim of the game is for players to make their way through the mansion from the entrance to the exit, whilst the board changes and moves. The board features a number of spinning platforms containing paths which can move and lead players down dead-end paths, useful shortcuts or into a confrontation with one of the mansion’s many ghosts.
The winner is the first player to escape from the mansion through the exit.
