The Captain Action Spider-Man set was released in 1967 by the Ideal Toy Company. The set featured a Captain Action figure which came with a complete Spider-Man costume. This is one of the most valuable action figure in the world.

Captain Action

Captain Action was the Ideal Toy Company’s solution to the success of Hasbro’s G.I. Joe line. Captain Action was designed to be a relatively average man and the figure was simultaneously released with a series of accessory packs which could instantly turn him into an astronaut, a soldier or even a superhero, thanks to merchandising deals with DC Comics and Marvel Comics.

The Captain Action range was officially discontinued in 1969.

Captain Action as Spiderman

The figure was the very first Spiderman action figure, though technically, it was a costume accessory pack for Captain Action.

The set included a Spiderman jumpsuit, face mask, spider light, utility belt, spider grappling hook with rope and handle, spider saw, spray tank with hose, spider and boots.

The figure is estimated to be worth $20,000 in mint condition.
