A Bo Schembechler bobblehead doll is a novelty figurine depicting the celebrated U.S American Football coach Bo Schembechler (1929 – 2006).
Bo Schembechler was a celebrated college football coach who worked with the Miami Redhawks from 1963 to 1968, and then the Michigan Wolverines from 1969 until 1989.
He is the most successful coach in Michigan college football history, winning or sharing 13 Big ten Conference titles during his 20 years with the team, and was renowned for his aggressive and physical style of play.
The Bo Schembechler bobblehead doll
The doll was produced by the company Forever Collectibles, and first given away free as a gift to the first 7,500 fans to attend the end-of-season home game against Michigan’s fierce rivals Ohio State in November 2001. The doll was also available to purchase for $20 at stands within the stadium, and from the University’s website.
The doll is now discontinued and is viewed as a collectible, particularly for fans of Michigan Wolverines and collectors of their memorabilia.
