Anyone for Pele's lute?
Today is a good day for weird football memorabilia stories!
West Hams fans were snapping up pieces of the old Boleyn ground this morning, before the team moves into its new taxpayer-funded althetics track down the road, and someone decided they were happy to pay £200 for this changing room sign:
There's something magic about that kind of football history. It'd bring a tear to Bobby Moore's eye.
Then someone equally insane across town paid £500 for this:
In case you're not too familiar with medieval instruments once owned by football legends, that's Pele's lute right there. Some collectors may have gone for a signed photograph, a shirt, perhaps his boots or even a trophy owned by the greatest player of all time. But today someone walked into that auction room and said to themselves "Forget all that, I'm having that lute."
