Andy Murray donated tennis ball to Wimbledon museum
Andy Murray has donated a tennis ball signed by himself and Fred Perry to the official Wimbledon museum ahead of his pursuit of a second Wimbledon title tomorrow.
The ball is one of three which were given to Murray by tennis fan Gail Sargent who had asked Perry to sign them in 1994. At the time of gifting Murray the balls, Sargent was suffering from ovarian cancer and sadly passed away in 2010.
One of the three balls will form part of an exhibit at the museum, while another will be auctioned off to raise funds for St Peter & St James Hospice-where Gail Sargent passed away.
