Lot 597: Wonderful set of nine medallions and three pins commemorating the Space Shuttle program, including: four medallions honoring the 50th anniversary of NASA, each containing metal flown aboard a Space Shuttle mission; gold and silver commemorative medallions celebrating the Space Shuttle program, both containing metal flown on a mission; a medallion commemorating the 25th anniversary of NASA, containing metal flown aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia, November 11–16, 1982; a John C. Stennis Space Center medallion commemorating "30 Years of Testing Space Shuttle Main Engines," containing metal shavings from a Space Shuttle main engine tested at NASA's Stennis Space Center; a Manned Flight Awareness medallion, containing metal removed from the Space Shuttle Columbia, with an 8.5 x 11 presentation certificate bearing printed facsimile signatures of the STS–1 astronauts; and three pins honoring STS-101, STS-67, and the program's iconic spacecraft.
