Lot 488: ALS in pencil, one page, 5.5 x 8.5, Fairchild Industries letterhead, no date. Letter to Ernest H. Wells, in full: "As I said in my letter to you dated July 18 I do not think I should endorse any book outside fields of science and engineering. For this reason I cannot approve your using any statements of mine on back of your new book." In fine condition, with a vertical bend along left edge, a crease to lower right corner, and staple holes to upper left corner.
