Lot 431: Two covers: a 40th anniversary cover honoring the day Yeager broke the sound barrier in his Bell X-1, postmarked October 14, 1987, Edwards Air Force Base, signed in black ink, "Chuck Yeager"; and a vintage postal cover honoring Yeager's sound barrier-breaking achievement, postmarked December 16, 1949, Wright Field, Ohio, signed in black ink, "Charles E. Yeager, Capt. USAF." The vintage cover is encapsulated in a Mylar sleeve. In overall fine condition, with slight soiling to the vintage cover. From the Leon Ford Collection.
