First Picture Taken by Man in Space
This was the first picture to be taken by man in space. Other previous images would have come from unmanned test flights, but in 1962 John Glenn took this picture of the Earth from quite a high orbit in the Mercury space craft.
This print of the image is one of the many in Dreweatts and Bloomsbury's auction of space photogrpahy. What this one lacks in aesthetic beauty can't be beaten for historical value. Estimated value is £400-600.
