Royal Christmas Gift Tags Make £4,500 at Auction
A collection of Christmas gift tags that have been signed by various members of the British Royal family have sold for £4,500 at auction.
The tags date from the early 1970s and feature handwritten notes that reveal a more humorous and festive side to the royal family that is rarely seen in public.
One of the tags sees Charles wish his cousin Princess Alexandra and her husband Angus Ogilvy a 'happy, inebriated Christmas' while another sees Queen Ellizabeth signing using her pet name "Lilibet".
The tags were saved from being thrown away by a former bodyguard and were put up for auction by his son-in-law at Brian Reeve Auctions.
